Like most of you, I have just over a billion apps on my phone. But only the best, most useful apps have a spot on the first page of my homescreen. ![]()
Take public transport a lot? Then get this app NOW. It basically tells you what bus and/or MRT to take to get to wherever you want to go. It even tells you how long the journey will take! ![]()
This is by far the best journal app out there (trust me, I've tried them all). It has a beautiful interface, the ability to embed pictures to your journal entries and a password lock to keep prying eyes away. It even syncs with the cloud, so all your entries are safe in case you ever lose your phone.
If you've never heard of this app before, here's a one-word summary of what it does: magic. You simply key in the name of just about any song, artist or album you want, and the app plays it. Like I said, magic.
All the essential apps like Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are there, of course. But here are some lesser-known ones that I think everybody should get:

This has replaced my phone's default calendar. Why? Because it syncs with your Facebook events. ONE CALENDAR TO RULE THEM ALL.

5. Zite (iPhone only)
I use quite a few news apps, but this one's my fave. When you first use it, it'll ask you what kind of topics you're interested in. Then the app trawls the web and compiles a list of news articles it thinks you're interested in. Too cool.
